Reading to Someone
Pod 4 started "Reading to Someone" today, using the EEKK technique. EEKK stands for "Elbow to Elbow, Knee to Knee." Each person spends about 5 minutes reading to their partner, practising their reading skills. Even though this was the first time, the did really well. All our children can read well, so get them to read some of their book to you at home.

The Dream Giver

Welcome to 2018!!
Hi everybody, and welcome to a new year at Hurupaki.
This year Pod 4 will have year 4 and some year 3 students - a change from previous years. At the start of the school year, we will have 53 students all together with two teachers - Mrs Herman and Mr Buckland. Mrs Moore will be teaching for Mrs Herman on Wednesdays. We would also like to welcome Miss Tilly this year, who will be helping us out as a student teacher.
We know that 2018 is going to be an awesome year, and we look forward to meeting and getting to know you all soon.
