Northland Cross Country

This was held last Friday at Barge Park. 9 children from our class qualified. 7 competed. ( Kiri-Maree injured and Molly overseas). They competed with the top 15 runners from each area in Northland, making races numbering around  30-40 runners each. AMAZING RESULTS - this shows that our daily fitness training has worked! Congratulations.

QUICK WRITES

Something mum always says to me is take my elbows off the table. She's always nagging me about it. Mum says it's disrespectful and  that I should show more respect at my age. I just take my bony elbows off the clean white table and mutter " Fine ".
" Thank you, " she always replies, as I slowly get back to scoffing up my dinner.

When I grow up I would like to be a Silver Fern, because I admire netballers and I can become a more efficient netball player. I want to carry on playing netball and be challenged as I get older, and compare how far I've come from the very first time I played until I'm bigger and better. I would like to travel around the world to play against other netball teams. I could become famous and carry on doing what I love.

Something that my mum always says is ''Eat your crust and you'll get curly hair''. Mum says this because she wants me to eat them and not waste them and I think she wants me to have curly hair as well. I also think she thinks that it makes me full. I eat these because I don't want her to growl at me and I also think that it makes me fuller. I really want curly hair. But it makes it straighter if anything. I don't believe this.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     By Skye Svenson                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           What makes me get annoyed is when people tag walls in town.  I don't get why people waste their free time on tagging stuff! I get so furious that steam almost spills out of my ears!  Mostly, every day I'm in the car, I see tags on the walls everywhere!  The people who tag walls always wear caps, probably so they don't get exposed. It makes me feel upset because people have to go and repaint the walls after they've been ruined.

When I grow up I want to be an explorer and travel the world trying to find new creatures such as animals that live in caves that no one knows about yet. Or maybe be the first person to land on Mars. That would be fun to see new things such as the surroundings. I would also like to race for team NZ in the America's Cup and try to smoke America. I would love tacking around the track. I would be pedaling or steering the wheel and using all my strength to help the team win. Josh Lee
