Limestone Island Trip Photos
Many thanks to all the parent helpers on our camp earlier this term. We really appreciated the time and effort you put into helping us on our daily excursions, cooking, erecting tents and helping make things run so smoothly for us. We had two fantastic day trips, which were thoroughly enjoyed by our students. Thank you again, Mark and José

Weaving Art
A couple of weeks ago, Mrs Arms spent an afternoon with Pod 4, and she taught us how to weave with coloured paper. We had templates with Koru designs on them that we coloured in before cutting them into lines and weaving the paper. We think the results are pretty cool, and you can see some of the finished pieces below. Thank you, Mrs Arms!!
Resilience
This year at Hurupaki Primary School, we are introducing our Learner Qualities. The first one is Resilience, which we have talked about in class - resilience is all about not giving up when things get hard and always trying out best in everything we do. We did some writing about what we think resilience is, and when we have been resilient. Have a look at what some of us came up with.
More Reading to Someone
The kids in our class are doing some great Reading to Someone these days - here are some more photos of our wonderful readers.

Reading to Someone
Pod 4 started "Reading to Someone" today, using the EEKK technique. EEKK stands for "Elbow to Elbow, Knee to Knee." Each person spends about 5 minutes reading to their partner, practising their reading skills. Even though this was the first time, the did really well. All our children can read well, so get them to read some of their book to you at home.
